Easivent brings high quality products and engineering excellence to the smoke control market to offer a reliable and low-cost alternative to employing a specialist contractor for simple smoke vent applications.
The Easivent Smoke Vent product range comprises kits containing ventilators or actuators, control panels, smoke detectors and switches designed to work out of the box without the need for specialist installation or commissioning services. The kits can be installed as either stand-alone systems or be inter-connected to form modular "smoke shaft" systems without the need of additional interfaces or software.
The Easivent Smoke Vent range is designed to meet the requirements of Approved Document B of the Building Regulations which requires smoke control within the common escape routes of certain buildings. Typically these will be high-rise residential or commercial premises.
Under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) it is a legal requirement to use only certified products for smoke ventilation. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure installations meet the relevant standards. For more information see SCS Group’s Technical Bulletin here.
The system example below is for a 6 storey smoke shaft, with an AOV window at the top of the stair and a louvre vent on top of the shaft.

M&E contractors have often attempted to install smoke control and automatic opening ventilator (AOV) systems themselves, but faced difficulties due to a lack of experience. If you are an M&E contractor wishing to bring smoke control in-house, our Approved Installer scheme will provide you with all the training and tools you need. Find out more about Approved Installers and how you can apply to become one here.
